The Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. Our missions include emergency services (including airborne search & rescue), aerospace education, and an outstanding cadet program for young people ages twelve and up. We are also acquiring additional responsibilities in the area of homeland security.
The Connecticut Wing has squadrons throughout Connecticut. While we are always seeking pilots, we also need ground team personnel, and office personnel. Senior member specialties include emergency services, administration, finance, personnel, IT, cadet programs, communications, medical services, public affairs, aerospace education, and many others
We are always seeking middle school and and high school students for our busy Cadet Program. CAP cadets learn about leadership, military customs and courtesies, and aerospace. Cadets participate in encampments, model rocketry, orientation flights aboard our Cessna aircraft, drill and ceremony, national activities like Hawk Mountain Ranger School, and even international exchanges. CAP cadets have a unique esprit de corps. They acquire leadership skills that bring success in later life.
